The evolution began in 1999 when I returned to my roots, home again after ten years of globetrotting building golf courses in Europe and Asia. I was hired to construct the daunting 27 Holes Granite Links project at Quarry Hills. This site utilized 13,000,000 tons of material from Boston’s “Big Dig Project” to close three former landfills while constructing a World Class Golf Facility and Sports Complex. In 2002 I formed Green Bases,Inc to provide “In-House” management and shaping services to complete Granite Links project and control the Union operations associated with the project. Granite Links opened for limited play in 2004 and was ranked by Golf Digest #8 in the Country New Golf Courses 2005. This prestigious Facility was just ranked by Golf Digest’s List of “America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses for 2009-2010”
The concept to provide In-House construction management, shaping services expanded into a full team concept to control cost and quality for all facets and proved effective once again in 2007 with the completion of Juliette Falls 18 Hole Golf and Spa Community West of Ocala, Florida. Ranked by Golf Magazine #6 in the Country New Golf Courses 2007 and just ranked By Golf Digest #5 Best New Private 2009. (Both Courses have held Tour Events and received high marks from the PGA and LPGA players)
The transformation of Black Stone Golf Construction will be complete once the Ferry Point Park project in New York is complete, an 18 Hole Jack Nicklaus/John Sanford signature design course atop a former landfill, slated to be a links course capable of hosting tour events. My firm Green Bases, Inc will be providing construction management services and will close down once complete.
Black Stone Golf Construction, LLC has emerged on the scene with strong strategic alliances and innovative In-House capabilities that set our services apart from other firms. We share the passion for excellence and provide personal dedication with conscientious attention to detail, resulting in cost effective and successful project development.
